I thought of starting a blog, I was walking along thinking of a name for it and up popped gi.
What is it? Not an Indian word though it sounds like it. Try these:
GI - government issue, the US army soldier.
- a loose-fitting white suit worn in judo, karate, and other martial arts
- a unit of magnetomotive force equal to 0.7958 ampere-turns, a Gilbert
- galvanized iron
So, gi - we have a soldier as hard as iron ready for combat in a martial arts suit carrying at the outset just a small force. It's a start. It's pronounced with a soft 'g' like the j in Jacques and an 'ee' for i. So jee.
Last year I almost died and when I was on the ground I had no fight at all, all I thought was - why not? That's pretty sad. Three days later my brother was found dead. Even sadder. All over and gone in an instant.
When you're flat on your back and you're ready to quit the world has beaten you. So let's start a definition for gi - fighting to the end? Perhaps, but this will need filling out. gi fits how I think at the moment - a bit of serendipity there [ser-uh n-dip-i-tee] a happy accident. gi helped me finish writing my novel in a month. It started this blog.Let's choose our first none-gi character - Johnny North in The Killers.
"The only man who refuses to run is a man who considers himself to be already dead."
New posts will examine how we can develop gi in spite of a world that tries to prevent its appearance.
gi - fight to the end.
